 Ensure controls positioned correctly
 Keep mirrors clean and correctly adjusted
 Familiarise yourself with the controls
 Keep your visor clear
 Are you dressed properly?
 Take machine off stand and sit astride
 Ensure machine is in neutral (rock back and forth)
 Cover rear brake and turn on ignition
 Check neutral indicator is lit
 Pull in the clutch lever
 Start the engine and check warning lights go out
